Spliff is a short film of a coming of age story, following two teenage outsiders bonding over their shared interests and choosing not to follow social hierarchy and creating their own norms.
The film was based on the director’s personal experience as an ‘outsider’ in societal norms, and chose to highlight their struggles and experiences in their creative project.
As 1st AD for this project I was in charge of script breakdowns for each department, storyboards, shotlists and organising call sheets during pre-production, and ran the set during production by tracking and relaying daily progress to ensure the project stayed on time.
If there were a chance to go back and change one thing from this project, it would be to allow more time in the schedule for the actors, director and DoP to experiment with the project.
